St Joseph’s Farm - access to sacred sites

During the period of St Joseph’s Farm, Koori people have uninterrupted access to their sacred sites on the cliff tops above. Their major art site is only a few hours travel away and their ceremonial ground half a day’s travel away. These cliff top areas are of little interest to settlers. Unfortunately they are too infertile to be alternative living places to the Gandangara when they are dispossessed from their riverside camps and resources. Smith, p. 637.
