Don Brady graduates from AIM’s Bible College in Karuah. Brady (born Palm Island) is one of the first to train as a missionary at the Men’s Native Workers Training College of the Aborigines Inland Mission at Karuah and graduates in 1949. He is later appointed to Brewarrina, Walcha, and Moree. Brady becomes a prominent Aboriginal church leader. After his return from the US where he holds a Churchhill scholarship, Brady speaks out on issues of justice. He becomes a catalyst for an emerging Black church.
