“Scrammy Billy”: “The Last of his Race” “Scrammy Billy” dies at Paterson on 30 April 1894. He is a “very old fellow”. The local press recognises him as “the last of his race in this district”. Billy has been supplied with rations for several years. He is reportedly buried with “not one of his tribe to make lamentations over him”.
