La Perouse and the rest: Allan Madden

Uncle Allan Madden shares some memories of life in the 1960’s. He and his mates used to go from Redfern to La Perouse and dive for coins off the wharf where the old oil tankers came in, and scale the trams. And how people all shared what they had. There was also The Foundation on George and Redfern where “if you couldn’t find your relo down there, or someone who knew where he was, he was either in jail or dead”.
