When the Gully was forced to close: Carol Cooper
“If we don’t stick together we’re not going to get anywhere.” Auntie Carol Cooper outlines some of the old and new problems among Aboriginal people. Even before the Gully was closed, some people left to conceal their identity. Now, she feels the process is reversed, as people are coming into back onto the land claiming it as theirs, "just like white people”. “And for Aboriginal people, I just think that’s a bit sad.”
