The Aboriginal Medical Service: Gordon Briscoe
Uncle Gordon Briscoe (later ran for parliament in the NT) shows the building in Redfern where The Aboriginal Medical Service began in the 1970’s and where they moved when they received funding from the Commonwealth Department of Health. The Service is still there in an old Catholic primary school. For a while, Mum Shirl took care of alcoholics in the unused church hall next door.
