Heroes and heroines of our own - my driving passion: John Maynard
Like many Aboriginal kids, Professor John Maynard of Newcastle University, did not enjoy school and did not have confidence in his abilities. He eventually went on to Wallotuka, an Indigenous Centre at Newcastle Unviersity where he began his studies, discovering both an aptitude and love for academia, though “my audience is always the Aboriginal audience.”
