Homes and homes away from home: Chicka Madden
Driving around Redfern, Uncle Chicka Madden shows where many of the old meeting places were and where many Koori families lived, including his own. The Lawson Theatre, Palms Milk Bar and The Lord Raglan were all big Koori hangouts. His parents used to have a drink at The Boundary Hotel. He also shows where the air raid shelters he used during WWII were. Lawson St and Caroline St were Koori-dominated streets.
