It's time to end the vicious cycle of racism: Michael Mundine

“It’s time to bring people together.” Uncle Michael Mundine tells of the origins of The Aboriginal Housing Company of Redfern. Begun by homeless “gummies” (alcoholics) in 1972 its currently a $45 million asset. They are rebuilding of The Block into units, townhouses and mixed student accommodation. He also outlines the terrible problems between Aboriginal people and the police and government, but he calls for Aboriginal people to stop blaming others for their own problems, like the drug trade of the 80’s-early 2000’s that “crucified our community” and make a good life for the next generation.
