Bulga Bora Ground

1852 A large Aboriginal ceremonial gathering is held at the Bulga Bora ground on eastern side of Wollombi Brook. Its sacred circles are defined by small mounds of earth and carved trees bearing emblems that mark the initiation of young men to tribal rites. 500 to 600 attend from various clans from as far as Mudgee and Goulburn.
