Portland Head Rock: First Contact
1791 Friendly canoeists Gomebeere, Yellowmundy, Deedora and Morunga paddle from mountain side of Hawkesbury River to converse with Gov Phillip's expedition near Portland Head Rock. Phillip, Tench and Dawes learn that Hawkesbury people speak a different language to coastal natives Colebe, Ballederry and Patyegarang.
