Adopted, raped and pregnant: Dianne O'Brien
Auntie Diane O’Brien grew up feeling she didn’t belong in her family, yet not knowing that she was Aboriginal and adopted. When she was 14 her adoptive mother died, relations with her father deteriorated, she was raped resulting in pregnancy, was sent to Parramatta Girls’ Home and chose to marry the father of the baby rather than lose her child.
