My family history: Richard Green
Born in Katoomba, moving to Kingswood when he was five to avoid the authorities, Uncle Richard Green is a Darug man from the Webb family, with links to the Cooper, Stubbings, Brophie and Locke families. He learned about this history from his white grandparents who “had a great connection with my people”. He laments the divisions that have arisen among Aboriginal people along clan lines: “We were all Kooris” until the 1980’s.
