On my uncle's land at La Perouse: Esme Timbery-Russell
Auntie Esme Timbery-Russell moved from Happy Valley to La Perouse when she was five or six. Her family used to take trips on the ferry across to Kurnell and collect shells, with which her mother taught her to create artworks. She made some of the Harbour Bridge, Centrepoint Tower and Opera House (all bought by the latter) and exhibits at galleries. She works with her daughter and teaches children how to make shell art creations.
