A Declaration of War: Gavin Andrews
Between 1814 and 1819 there were a series of massacres and killings. Uncle Gavin Andrews tells stories of civilian killings, unsanctioned and disapproved by Governor Macquarie and the military interventions that were sanctioned, one of which being the Appin massacre in 1816: “It was a declaration of war”.
